Bucharest Grand Walking Tour 2026: Car-Free Weekend, Old Town, and the Arch of Triumph (4K)

Welcome to the capital of Romania, like you've never seen her before! We invite you to a comprehensive hour-long video tour of Bucharest on a special day – during the Car-Free Weekend (Străzi Deschise) festival. Usually the noisy and busy avenues of the metropolis are completely closed to traffic, turning the city into the perfect pedestrian paradise.

This epic walk was filmed on September 19, 2026, on a hot weekend day (+28°C). The video was recorded in premium 4K 60fps (10-bit Color) using a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera. Thanks to its advanced sensor, we were able to perfectly capture the contrast between the bright Romanian sun, the lush greenery of the parks, and the graceful historic facades. There's no voiceover or overlay music—only the pure, relaxing binaural sound of the metropolis taking a break from its motors. 📍 What to expect on the route (Video guide):

🏛️ From the monumental Parliament to the secrets of the Old Town [00:00 – 35:00] Our journey begins on the wide Unirii Boulevard, from where there is a stunning view of the colossal Palace of Parliament ****. After going around Constitution Square and strolling through the shady Izvor Park, We cross the river and dive into the historic center. The real gem of this section is the passage through the stunning Macca-Villacrosse passage, after which we dissolve into the labyrinth of Lipscani and Smirdan streets. Here we will make a useful stop, to explore the menus of local restaurants and check the current prices in Romanian lei.

🚶‍♂️ Pedestrian Paradise: Calea Victoriei and the Romanian Athenaeum [35:32 – 57:00] The highlight of our walk is our exit to the famous Calea Victoriei. Street, usually packed with cars, today it is completely given over to pedestrians, Street performers and table tennis enthusiasts right on the roadway! We'll pass by the Kretzulescu Church and the equestrian statue of Carol I, Let's enjoy the performance of a street guitarist and witness a beautiful Romanian wedding near the majestic building of the Romanian Athenaeum. 🌳 Green Herăstrău, luxury villas and the Arc de Triomphe [57:22 – 01:13:33] Hopping onto the Bucharest metro for a quick ride, We teleport to the capital's main green oasis - Herăstrău Park. After enjoying the nature and crossing the park bridge, we find ourselves in the prestigious Primăverii district, which is often called the "Beverly Hills of Bucharest" due to its luxurious villas and embassies. A fitting finale to our monumental journey will be the exit to the impressive Triumphal Arch (Arcul de Triumf)
